Resting in God’s Promises
ReplyDeleteJosh 21:45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass NKJV
The hope of every believer is built upon the rock solid foundation of the faithfulness of God to His promises. When God makes a promise to an individual or to a people, then it can be considered done, settled. Although the promise may be realized in the future, the assurance and the ownership can be received and enjoyed in the present. God is Truth and cannot lie, and He has the power to complete what He has said. God had promised the Israelites a land flowing with milk and honey, the Promised Land. The journey was long and difficult filled will trials and tragedies. Many of the recipients of the promise wavered in doubt and despair, but not the Giver of the promise. He is always faithful to complete all that He has said. One can find great peace and therefore rest in the faithfulness of God to His promises. Though the path may be rough and the burden may be heavy, we can be strengthened knowing that God will do everything He promised us, everything.
