  1. Josh 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." NKJV

Joshua reminds the people that when all is said and done, "Life's all about choice." The quality and extent of our lives is simply a summation of the daily choices we make. Earlier God had spoken through His prophet Moses, “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess” (Deut 30:15-17). The choices were offered and were very distinct, “life and good” or “death and evil” and the decision is ours. Joshua was not indecisive or wavering in his choice: he chose life, he chose the Lord.
