We pray that you will use this devotional each day to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. It will offer you fresh insights of the Bible and will be a wonderful tool in family devotion. ~Pastor John A. Raulerson
As one studies the history of Israel it is amazing how soon people forget God. Although they had witnessed God's mighty power in their deliverance from Egypt, provision in the wilderness, and fulfilled promises of the Promised Land, they always soon forgot God. Yet, is this not a picture of our lives today? One day we revel in the blessings of God and then in just a short time we turn our backs and act as if we didn't even know Him. The natural man craves the things of this world and therefore we must intentionally and constantly nourish the spiritual man and our relationship with Christ. Also, we have less of an excuse than the Israelites. They did not have the presence of the Holy Spirit ministering "within" them as we do after Pentecost. To turn from God we must struggle against the convicting power of the Holy Spirit if we are truly a child of God. O that we may hold fast to the One who loves us and delivers us from the bondage of sin and this world. Let us never turn away from Him as He will never turn away from us.
