We pray that you will use this devotional each day to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. It will offer you fresh insights of the Bible and will be a wonderful tool in family devotion. ~Pastor John A. Raulerson
It is amazing to see Jesus' ministry begin. The beginning of His ministry is just after being tested by Satan in the wilderness. In Luke, the first thing we see from Jesus publicly is His teaching in the synagogue in Galilee. Amazingly the text given that day was from Isaiah 61 and Jesus tells us He is the fulfillment of this p600 year old prophecy. As if that wasn't enough, Jesus continues to speak He lays truth to the Jews. THe Bible says in Luke 4:28 "When they heard these things, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath."
ReplyDeleteI find it incredible, the religious response to truth. They were filled with wrath and drove Him out. The Spirit is sensative to the truth of Scripture, but the flesh rises up against the truth. As we read the Word of God, may we find our Spirit fed and our flesh defeated.
mr.G said...GOD's word is so powerful and alive in a christian's life. Jesus used power a few times in this reading. Jesus cast out demons with AUTHORITY AND POWER,and how about when they were astonished at his doctrine,FOR HIS WORD WAS WITH POWER. We who are a blood bought child of God have this same kind of power because we are joint heirs with Christ....Eph.3:20 says"NOW UNTO HIM THAT IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK,ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORKETH IN US."....OH! Get that flesh out of the way and Christ would take us places and He would do things through us that we could only dream about.
