- Through grace I am a child of God and have the glorious privilege of serving His church. I am am blessed to be married to my high-school sweetheart, Wanda Sue, with whom I have three precious daughters.
Throughout Chapter 23 is but one theme, "Be real"...Jesus is chastizing the pharisees throughout this chapter regarding what they know verses what they do....This reminds me that when I became a child of God, He started cleaning from the inside out....it reminds me that I must pray daily for God to purge the ugly out of me, 23:25 says, "you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self indulgence." Then vs. 26..."You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean". (To do otherwise is like putting a bandaid over a gaping wound). Lord, help me to not be a blind Pharisee....
ReplyDeleteIn Chapter 24, Jesus tells me regarding the last days: vs 4 "see that no one leads you astray" and vs 6 "see that you are not alarmed". This reminds me that I must be immersed in God's Word so that I can recognize truth at all times. Also, if I become alarmed and fearful over things that I can't control....it will paralyze my witness.
